Bitter the fruit, written by Nicholas Constant, is based on a true story of the heroic struggle of two teachers and the UFW against agribusiness, methyl bromide, and profits. Methyl Bromide is so toxic, it was set to be phased out in 2005, but each year was granted an exemption. In December 2010, outgoing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the even more lethal, Methyl Iodide into law. Last Performance: Feb. 26th @8PM and at the Broadway Playhouse 526 Broadway in Santa Cruz.
